Breaking: Junior Galette tears Achilles, out for the season

Yes, you are reading that correctly. No, this is not 2015. In a very unfortunate turn of events, OLB Junior Galette has once again torn his Achilles and will be out for the 2016 season.
The news was first broken by Rand Getlin, who reported that the injury occurred while Galette was running drills on Sunday.
Galette signed a one year contract during this off-season and was betting on himself to have a big year and cash out next season. Obviously, things have taken a turn for the worst. Galette has become a fan favorite with his fan interaction on social media, jersey giveaways, and showing his dedication to the Redskins (which included a tattoo of the team logo). This injury will no doubt hit the team and the fans hard.
The good news is the team had depth at the position with sophomore Preston Smith waiting in the wings, who is coming off a rookie season in which he led all rookies in sacks. There isn’t much doubt that Smith can come in and be a major force, and with more experience has a very high ceiling of what he can do.
The injury news comes just 3 days before the first day of training camp. This is when the good teams show their resilience and ability to bounce back from unfortunate injuries. The Redskins are facing deja vu that they wish was a bad dream, but this could also be Preston Smith’s time to shine. Only time will tell…
