Redskins ink Jordan Reed to long term deal

As first reported on Twitter via Peter Schrager, the Redskins have signed Jordan Reed to a 5 year extension worth $50 million.

It is expected that Reed will be making between $9.4 to $10.5 mil per year. Right now Jimmy Graham is the highest paid TE in football with $10 mil per year, and it looks like Reed will average around that much.

Reed had one of the best seasons ever for a pass catcher in Redskins history last year, catching 87 passes for 952 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Scot McCloughan mentioned many times that this team will reward it’s own, and this deal proves that. Reed is easily one of the best TE’s in football and is being paid to reflect that now.

This offense is young and looks to be built to last. The Redskins are building off a strong season as an offense, and could potentially be even better this upcoming season. #FeedReed is ready to go.
