Podcast: McCloughan, Allen, & Cousins w/ Mike Jones

It is entirely possible that there hasn’t been a more tumultuous week in recent Redskins history than the past seven days.

That is not hyperbole, either.

In the space of a week we’ve seen General Manager Scot McCloughan fired with cause, Quarterback Kirk Cousins requested a trade to the San Francisco 49ers, the Redskins became the first team in NFL history to lose two 1,000 yard receivers in the same offseason, and Head Coach Jay Gruden was extended for two years. And that’s not to mention the fact that free agency has commenced!

To help hosts Chad and Mark wade through these murky waters, they are joined by the one and only Mike Jones from the Washington Post, who has been on the cutting edge of the McCloughan story (among others) in the past few weeks. Together, we peel back the curtain and ask Mike when he decided that this story had real meat on the bone, so to speak, and what went into going public with the sordid details of the apparent Scot McCloughan/Bruce Allen turf war.

We also cover off NFL free agency and the latest in Redskins news on that front, and finally, yes, we address the latest on the Kirk Cousins trade front, as well as Chad addressing his controversial “90% likely” report.

All that and more on another episode of Redskins Capital Connection!
