PODCAST: Training Camp Day 10 (Fight!)

In terms of a football practice, Day 10 of Redskins Training Camp and Day 3 of the joint practices with the Houston Texans was a bit of a bust, due to the heavy rain and, or course, the massive all-in melee that ensued.

Host Chad is joined by rookie co-host Anthony (subbing in for Mark, who was on a veterans day off), and they talk to Redskins players Duke Ihenacho, Stephen Paea, Keenan Robinson, Will Compton, and Darrel Young about the fight, and what it was like going against the Texans.

All that and more from our last day at Redskins Training Camp in 2015. It’s been an absolute pleasure bringing you coverage from the fields here. We hope you’ve enjoyed it.

Below is also a transcript of Ihenacho’s comments about the fight, which we think you’ll agree demonstrates a fantastic attitude.

  • Duke Ihenacho to the Redskins Capital Connection podcast: “I think in camp you become a family. You come into camp as a team, and everyone’s trying to make the team but you spend times with everybody, you naturally become ‘one’. You become brothers. You become family. And just like real families, if you were to see your brother get into a fight down the street, all you’re going to do is run over there. You’re not going to ask what’s wrong, what did he do, why is he fighting. All you’re going to do is run over there and help because that’s your brother, and that’s all you know. So that’s the attitude we’re taking; we preach it all time time about changing the culture here. We need to develop a winning attitude with an aggressive tough mentality. Take no prisoners. Take no crap mentality. We want to play football, but we trying to protect our brothers and that’s the most important thing to us.”
